Dental Laboratory & CAD/CAM

A dental laboratory is being specified twice over right now, once for the traditional bench, model trimmers, articulators, furnaces and casting equipment, and once for the digital workflow sitting next to it, an intraoral scanner feeding a milling machine or 3D printer. Jodroc supplies both sides rather than only one, including the extraction and dust control a milling room needs and the vacuum mixers and benching a plaster-and-wax bench still runs on, so a lab can move work between the two as a case calls for it instead of being committed entirely to either.

Common questions

Does a digital dental lab still need traditional casting equipment?

Most working labs run both. A furnace and casting setup is still needed for metal frameworks and certain restorations, while an intraoral scanner and mill or printer handle the cases suited to a fully digital workflow. Jodroc supplies equipment for either side.

What does a milling machine or 3D printer need around it?

Extraction and dust control for milling, and a vacuum mixer and model trimmer if the lab still pours physical models from the digital scan for verification.

Can Jodroc supply an intraoral scanner on its own, without a mill?

Yes. An intraoral scanner can be supplied and set up independently, with cases sent out to an external milling service, which is how many smaller labs begin a digital transition.
